Monkey's maternal grandpa was telling her about god and that he created the sun and the moon. MonkeyMama was not thrilled to hear that. She told Monkey that some people believed in gods, but not MonkeyMama. As for Monkey, she was advised to wait until she is 25 to make the decision. Before that she was free to ask people what they believe and why god is important or unimportant in their lives.
It is not easy to lead a secular life. This country is more likely to see a gay president before they see a secular one.
