A Liar In The Making
Katy seems to like to look at herself in the mirror. We are not sure if she really likes it or not. She may be too young for that. We think that when she smiles, it is not because of the other baby in the mirror, but rather that she sees our reflections (and then she will look at the baby confused).
Babies or little children are not supposed to look at the mirror in Taiwan because that would turn them into liars. We learned this when we bought Katy a nice Tummy-Fun Turtle; it was quietly removed from her bassinet by Grandma Julia. No, you don't want lying children around the house.

Standing
Here we tried to take a picture of little Katy standing, with the help of parental support. Our gray cat, as usual, liked to intervene. Sure the whole family is together in a 3' x 3' spot; why not join them?
She grew a lot since the previous post. She can lift her head much better now. She can lock her knees such that she appears to stand on her feet. She can laugh too! Yesterday she surprised us by laughing (not smiling) at her mobile unit on the swing. We don't get a laughter from her yet. Baby laughters are interesting; she ends each of her little sounds of happiness with a hiccup. I suppose she can't quite control her muscles well yet.
She also had her two-month checkup. Everything is growing on schedule, still above 95%.

Smile
We went to LA over the weekend. Katy did reasonably well in the car, considering her age. We had to stop every two hours, but she would have preferred to stop every hour or so.
The weather was beautiful in SoCal. Warm and sunny; perfect to take her to a park or a walk by the beach. But we ended up leaving her with the grandparents and went places by ourselves. Consequently, we didn't take any interesting different pictures.

Message From A Corporate Icon
"Buy more Disney toys!"
Katy loves her Mickey Mouse music box. We put the music box by her changing table, and every time she is there, she would smile and coo at Mickey. We think it may be because of its black and white eyes. It is the only Mickey Mouse item we have but it fascinates her.

More Food
We burp her after feeding her every couple of ounces. Katy doesn't mind the intermission too much; she may protest a little. Oftentimes, she would root around, trying to find food on a shoulder, neck, or even the earlobe. Very nice wet baby kisses.

Pooh
Here is Katy in her Winnie the Pooh bunting outfit. She was not in a good mood because she thought she was famished.

Contentment
She can smile more reliably now (i.e., we know she is smiling at us and not some kind of muscular exercises).
K weighs 13 pounds currently; she has officially outgrown her 0-3M clothes. Pretty impressive development at 6 weeks old. Will she outgrow her 3-6M outfits in another 6 weeks? Our bundle of need seems to be going through another growth spurt right now. She has been able to sleep long hours at night, like 5 or 6 hours or so. But the last two nights, she wakes up every 2 hours and demands feeding. Last night we fed her 11 oz of formula within two hours! (The daily intake for a baby her size is roughly 26-32 oz and for about 6 feedings a day.) K doesn't understand our explanation that she can't have any more food because she just had six oz, so we give in. We just hope she doesn't surprise the doctor in two weeks at her checkup.

Strong Neck Muscle
Little K likes to lift her head whenever she gets a chance. She is still too young to hold her neck up, so she would lose balance and end up kissing people on the cheek or the face.
